[Ehi-vestlus] Workshop on Geertz at TLU

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The  Anthropology Centre at the Estonian Institute of Humanities, Tallinn
University has the pleasure to invite you to an afternoon of discussion and
debate in memory of Prof. Clifford Geertz, who passed away last week.
Scholars from different disciplines (anthropology, cultural theory, literary
theory, etc) will present a brief assessment of Prof Geertz's influence over
different fields of knowledge, followed by a screening of film material on
funerary practices in Bali (one of Geertz's fieldsites and topics) an open
discussion, and a toast in memory of Prof. Geertz.
The workshop will take place on Friday, the 10th of November between
16:00-18:00 hs in room U225, followed by a reception at the bar in the
ground floor of the new building, Uus-Sadama 5, Tallinn.
